Sigma?s 90mm f/2.8 DG DN Contemporary L-mount Lens is a prime telephoto lens with impressive optical performance. It?s suitable for portraits and selective daytime photography and offers a fast f/2.8 aperture to control depth of field and work with light in less illuminated environments. This lens includes an aspherical element and five special low-dispersion elements to achieve remarkable sharpness and clarity. The lens incorporates a manual aperture ring for enhanced feel and also features a stepper motor for fast and quiet AF performance. A rounded nine-slit diaphragm allows for pleasantly smooth bokeh, and the all-metal body is sealed, water-resistant, to suit harsh conditions.
As part of the Contemporary line of Sigma?s Global Vision series, this lens has been designed to strike a balance between convenience and performance and combines a compact, lightweight construction and versatile handling with outstanding optical attributes.
The Series I lens emphasizes a sleek, modern physical design that is built to the same operational standards as Sigma?s Cine lenses, including a mechanical aperture ring, metal components and a number of handy switches and controls for intuitive operation.
The short 90 mm telephoto lens is designed for L-Mount mirrorless cameras, however, it can also be used with APS-C models where it provides a focal length equivalent to 135 mm.
Five Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements significantly reduce chromatic distortions and color dispersion for greater clarity and color accuracy.
A rich aspherical element helps control spherical distortion for a high degree of sharpness and accurate rendering.
The integrated stepper motor provides smooth and quiet autofocus, which is further complemented by an internal focus design to promote greater responsiveness.
The manual aperture ring includes an A-position for camera-based aperture selection.
The rounded nine-slit diaphragm contributes to a smooth and pleasing bokeh quality.
The brass bayonet offers greater mounting precision and rigidity, and the rubber seal is incorporated into the mount?s design to make it resistant to dust and splashes.
