As such, its large aperture standard zoom offers excellent image quality to rival the lenses in the Art range, while presenting a form factor light enough for everyday use.

Built with state-of-the-art technology, the 28-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary features an advanced optical design that includes three aspherical elements, two FLD and two SLD. Despite using a smaller total number of elements compared to the 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN | Art, its design results in a complete correction of axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma aberration, which cannot be corrected from the camera, allowing users to create images that are uniformly sharp from the center to the corners of the frame. Together with the anti-ghosting design, the Multi-Layer and Nano Porous super coating translate into efficient reflex control, useful for high-contrast results in backlit conditions. In addition, the equipment also features a water and oil repellent coating on the front of the lens.
